Evolution of GCA

  • Founded in 1944, the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI), formerly known as the Actuarial Society of India, has been the guiding force behind the actuarial profession in India.

  • For over 81 years, IAI has nurtured generations of actuaries, shaped regulatory frameworks, and contributed significantly to the growth of insurance, pensions, and financial risk management across the country.

  • The Global Conference of Actuaries (GCA), initiated in 1999, has evolved into a premier international platform that brings together actuaries, industry leaders, regulators, and academics to exchange ideas and insights on emerging risks, innovation, and inclusive growth.

  • Last year, the GCA welcomed over 1,300 delegates, 80+ speakers, and numerous partners from around the globe, making it one of the most anticipated global actuarial events of the year.

  • The conference is complemented by the Actuarial Gala Function & Awards (AGFA), a vibrant evening that celebrates excellence, creativity, and collaboration within the actuarial community.
