Non-Life Reinsurance and Impact of Climate Risks

Mr. Sateesh Bhat is a Fellow member of the Institute of Actuaries of India specialised in Non-Life insurance. Since 2019, He is the Appointed Actuary of General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re), ranked 9th Largest Global Reinsurer among Non-IFRS 17 Reporting Reinsurer- compiled by AM Best. ​

He is an Electrical Engineer by qualification with over 34 years of experience in power generation, IT and actuarial domains. He started his career as Scientific officer in Nuclear power corporation of India and worked in the design and development of Computer based control systems for Process Control and Reactor Control Applications. ​

In addition, he has also done freelancing in software development before moving into Actuarial domain. In Actuarial domain, he has rich experience in valuation of retirement benefits, product pricing, reserving and valuation of General insurance companies in India. ​
