Prasun Sarkar is an Actuary by profession with a specialisation in General Insurance. He is currently working in the capacity of Appointed Actuary and Chief Actuarial Officer at ICICI Lombard General Insurance, the largest private sector General Insurance Company in in India.

He has a total of 20 years’ experience in General Insurance, exposure to multiple functional areas like Investment, Actuarial and Risk management spanning across both private and public sector companies. He is currently a Member of the IRDAI Expert Committee on Ind AS/IFRS implementation, Past Member and Leader of the Non-life Working Group for IRBCF (Indian Risk Based Capital Framework) calibrations, Invitee Member of the Market Risks Group for IRBCF (Indian Risk Based Capital Framework), Member of the General Insurance Advisory Group of IAI and Member of multiple other regulatory and Industry level committees.

He has been playing an instrumental role in the implementation of IFRS/Ind AS standards at ICICI Lombard. He is a Fellow from Institute of Actuaries of India. He has a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (MBA) from Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode.
