Heerak Basu is a Principal with Milliman's life insurance consulting practice  and is based in Mumbai. He also has extensive Indian life insurance industry experience having served as an Appointed Actuary for more than 12 years. He also worked with an international consulting firm for more than 5 years in Singapore and prior to that worked in the UK for a life insurer.

He has served on the Council of the IAI and holds an Honours Degree in Mathematics from Cambridge University. He is a Fellow of the IAI and the IFoA.
