About AI

Frank Chang started his career as a traditional actuary, then joined Google in 2012 as their first actuary. In 2014, he joined Uber as their first actuary and currently is a Vice President of Applied Science. His team consists of actuaries and data scientists working globally.He holds a B.A. in Music and a Ph.D. in Maths from UC San Diego.

He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and was their President in 2024 and Chairperson in 2025. He now serves as the Chair of the International Actuarial Association’s AI Task Force.
