Anurag Rastogi is a qualified general insurance and health insurance actuary and has 360 degree experience of general insurance spanning nearly 36 years, which includes rich experience in underwriting, claims, sales, profit centre head, research, Merger & Acquisition, teaching and consulting in Afro Asian countries and actuarial. He started his career in National Insurance Company as AAO in 1988 and since then has worked at National Insurance Academy, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company and HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company.

He has worked across general insurance value chain and has held positions of Profit Centre Head, Researcher and Professor, Appointed Actuary, Head – Underwriting & Claims and Chief Actuary & Chief Underwriting Officer. He has worked as a Lead of Underwriting, Claims and Actuarial work-streams in two M&A deals from Due Diligence till acquisition, merger and integration into the acquiring company. Since August 2022 He divides his time between voluntary professional work for Institute of Actuaries of India (Vice President, IAI and Chairperson, Education Committee, IAI), speaking on general insurance and actuarial topics, mentoring young actuaries and start ups and advising on strategies related to general insurance underwriting, claims, segmentation, sales, distribution and actuarial.

He has chaired and has been a member of several committees of IRDA and IIB on actuarial and other areas of non-life insurance and has published papers in India and abroad. By qualification he has Masters in Physics along with Fellow of Insurance Institute of India & Fellow of Institute of Actuaries of India.
